STRI Research Team
We have 85 staff working at STRI, with 18 scientists and technicians within the research team. Our team is unparalleled in their knowledge of the construction, development, management and characteristics of sports surfaces and has access to world-leading technologies and extensive research facilities.
Our research team is based at our head office in Bingley, Yorkshire, which incorporates our laboratories, testing facilities and vast research plots.
The team offers specialist research and testing expertise, combined with years of practical experience and a wide range of skills, including:
- World-renowned turf scientists
- Product testing and efficacy trial managers and research officers
- Accredited testing laboratory managers and technicians
- Soil physicists, specialising in the research of the design, construction and performance of sports surfaces
- Plant pathologists, providing expertise into the research, identification and management of pests, weeds and diseases
- Soil chemists, specialising in turf nutrition and fertiliser research
- Grounds staff team, managing the experimental plots across the STRI trials grounds.
In addition, we have a customer service team, based at our head office, which manages all your queries and issues, quickly and efficiently.
