Training
Our consultants and advisors are recognised as world-leading specialists in sports turf design and management with years of practical research and experience. We offer training courses tailored for greenkeepers, club secretaries, chair of greens and golf club committee members on the most effective and efficient ways to develop and manage your golf course and greens.
Our training programmes are recognised throughout the industry, with accreditation from LANTRA and the GTC (Greenkeepers Training Committee). Delegates successfully completing our courses are awarded the STRI Certificate of Completion and are awarded CPD and BASIS points for attending each course module.
The STRI training courses are held at regional golf courses and sports facilities each autumn. We also offer bespoke training and tailored seminars for individual golf clubs or groups.
Recruitment
We offer support and advice to golf clubs during the recruitment process for head greenkeepers and course managers. Our expertise in the management and maintenance of golf courses is helpful to assess both experience and competence for these important roles.
Our advisors work closely with your manager and committee to ensure you are appointing the best candidate through:
- Candidate screening – checking through applications and advising which candidates to put forward for interview
- Interview support – attending interviews and offering technical expertise for questioning candidates
- Practical assessment – checking knowledge and skills on the course against a set of defined criteria, to assess expertise and suitability for the role
