STRI Programme – greens performance analysis
We have been developing a new service over the last three years to support you and your golf club to fully understand the quality of your greens; this is possible through the latest developments in tools and technology, which allows us to take a comprehensive set of measurements across each green and accurately assess the playing performance of your greens.
The STRI Programme has been developed in partnership with hundreds of golf clubs and tailored to provide valuable information for greenkeepers, managers, chair of greens and golf club committees. The information gives you a detailed view of the current status of greens and allows you to track your progress and improvements in playing quality on greens.
A set of measurements is taken for each of the following characteristics on each green, the data and results are then analysed and the correlation between the results is identified:
- Firmness
- Smoothness
- Trueness
- Speed
- Moisture levels
- Soil analysis

The measurements are analysed and interpreted by STRI advisors, in partnership with greenkeepers and committees, which then provide valuable input into the management programmes for your greens.
The data and analysis is presented in a detailed report with data tables and graphs, which can be circulated to all interested audiences within your golf club. This allows you to clearly communicate the current status on your greens and report on future improvements.
The service also provides a web-based data entry system (the STRI Programme website) to allow clubs to record their own measurements on a regular basis, this can be weekly, monthly or whenever suits your resources and time available. You will receive your own individual web page, where you can enter your data and access all your historic reports and data whenever you need them. All data can be easily accessed and printed in table or graph format or downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.
