STRI is pleased to announce that in conjunction with CRL (Clive Richardson Ltd), we have scooped the top prize for work undertaken in Ukraine at The Association of Landscape Contractors of Ireland (ALCI) Awards 2012.
Alongside CRL, STRI was delighted to be crowned the overall winner of the Bog Oak Trophy, in recognition of our work at the Metalist Stadium in Kharkiv, supported by ENGO and DESSO Grassmaster, who were also involved in delivering the world class playing surface.
STRI designed and managed the project whilst CRL was the sports turf contractor at the 42,000 capacity stadium which was one of the Euro 2012 venues. The ALCI Landscape Awards are held annually to celebrate the high standards of skills and professionalism of ALCI members across a range of sports turf and landscape schemes.
As well as receiving the main award at the event, we were also recognised with two merit awards in the Sportsgrounds category. STRI designed and project managed the Olympic Stadium project in Kiev with Clive Richardson Limited. A merit award was also received by STRI in recognition of its work with Tony Patterson at the Clare Campus in Limerick.
Gordon McKillop, STRI’s Chief Executive said: “With so much competition, we’re delighted to receive the recognition for the work we’ve undertaken in Kiev, Limerick and most notably, Kharkiv.
“It’s fantastic news for both STRI and our contractors to receive these accolades at such a prestigious event. Working alongside CRL and Tony Patterson on these projects, world class playing surfaces were delivered that will further enhance all of our reputations in the turf management industry.”
