Understanding football pitches and how to best look after them is one of our areas of expertise. We have been researching the construction and management of sports turf for more than eighty years.
We have a team of specialist advisors, with a wealth of knowledge and practical experience on the latest products, techniques and machinery that can be used to manage your football pitch to produce good quality results.
We have a range of advisory services to suit all types of client:
- Annual STRI Subscription – this service is offered at a discounted cost for clients wanting regular assessments and advice to achieve quality and consistency on their football pitches; you can choose from one to four visits per year, dependent on your requirements. Additional benefits of membership as an STRI Subscriber include STRI quarterly Bulletin, access to the STRI Helpline and discounted lab and training services.
- Bespoke Visits – this is a useful service for football clubs and schools who require help with ‘one-off’ projects or issues, including:
- Problem Solving – solutions for problem areas of your pitch
- Design or reconstruction of football pitches
- Drainage/Irrigation – assessment and solutions for new or existing drainage or irrigation systems
- Identification and advice on pests, weeds & diseases
- Soils testing and analysis (at our STRI laboratory in Bingley)
- Pitch Performance Analysis – detailed analysis of the playing quality and characteristics of your football pitch, including surface hardness, traction, stud penetration, moisture, rooting depth, grass species composition and drainage. We use the latest developments from our STRI Research team in tools and technologies to give you an accurate assessment of the performance and quality of your football pitch, with recommendations on how to improve.
