Sports Surfaces Care & Maintenance
To continually deliver good quality sport surfaces requires expertise and experience. We work in partnership with owners, managers and groundsmen to help develop and manage sports surfaces for UK and international racecourses, cross country courses and arenas.

We provide practical and relevant advice on the best way to improve your sports surfaces to deliver quality performance and durability.
Course/Arena Assessment
We offer a comprehensive assessment and detailed report on the playing performance and quality of your sports surfaces, with recommendations on maintenance and quality improvement programmes. This service is available to all clients and at a discounted cost for those clients who wish to retain our services on an annual basis through our STRI Subscriber membership.
STRI Subscribers have the option of one to four site visits per year and receive additional benefits including the STRI Quarterly Bulletin, access to the STRI Help Line and on-line support services and discounted lab testing and training course costs.
Course Arena Improvements & Problem Solving
There are occasions when your course or arena may not be achieving the level of quality or aesthetics you require. Our STRI advisory team offers an urgent response service to help you deal with any problem areas by assessing surfaces and conducting tests to identify what the issue is and develop improvement plans to help improve the quality and performance on your sports surface, often within critical timescales.
Our team offers solutions for surface hardness or softness issues, ID and advice for pests, weeds and diseases, soil and rootzone problems (using STRI’s testing facilities at our laboratories in Bingley), grass cover problems and drainage and irrigation issues.
