STRI Research 2011 (video)
On 21 September 2011 STRI hosted a new style event, STRI Research 2011, at our research facilities in Bingley, Yorkshire. The event was designed to demonstrate the latest products, machinery and techniques that are being tested and developed for the effective management of sports turf.
The day was a great success, with 116 course managers and greenkeepers attending and travelling from across the UK and Ireland. The event was structured into seven stations, each with its own research focus, which included disease and nutritional management research, demos from the latest machinery and innovative techniques to help improve the quality and performance of turf. The video below shows the highlights of the day with feedback from delegates including:
Stuart Yarwood, Course Manager at Lymm Golf Club: “It’s good to get behind the scenes and see where the magic happens. Having it here on one day with all the stations is fantastic”.
David Golding, Education Director at GTC: It’s an event not to be missed. It’s great to see delegates from all across the country that clearly have an interest in education and learning”.
Bayer, Becker Underwood, Everris (formerly Scotts), R&K Kensett, Ransomes Jacobsen, Sherriff Amenity and Syngenta were the companies supporting and presenting at the event, each of which is conducting research at Bingley and investing time and resource into the development of new products for the industry with the support of STRI’s research team.
We’re looking forward to planning and hosting STRI Research 2012 – see you there.
