How do I find the books I want?

There are a number of ways in which you can find a specific book or browse our online catalogue. To search for an item you can:

Click on the "Browse by category" section where you can find an item by subject.

Type the book name, author, ISBN etc in the "Search Bookshop" section, if you are after a particular title.

You can use a partial word like "grass" – this would find publications with the words "grass", "grasses", "turfgrass" etc.

How do I order the books?

Buying a book from our site is designed to be as easy as possible. Once you have found a book that you would like to purchase, click the "Add to basket" button on the book details page. At this point you will have to register or log in, then enter your payment and delivery details.

How does my shopping basket work?

The shopping basket is just a way of holding onto books that you are interested in. You are not committed to purchasing the book by putting it in the shopping basket.

You can check what is in your basket at any time when you are logged in by clicking on the shopping basket button on the left of the web pages. If you want to remove an item, simply change the quantity to zero (0) and click on "update".

When you are happy with the contents of your basket and would like to purchase the items, then click the "Go to checkout" button.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept the following credit cards: VISA, MASTERCARD and EUROCARD.

Once you are happy with your order details; click the "Order Now" button to complete the transaction. An e-mail will be sent to confirm your order.

How much do you charge for delivery?

Our system will automatically calculate and display the delivery charge for your transaction. All books are subject to charges for P&P. Read about our delivery rates below.

P&P is calculated on the total value of the order, before any discounts. Postage covers UK and Surface Mail for all other countries. Airmail rates can be quoted on request.

Parcels and packages 5kg or under will be sent printed paper rate. Any losses will only be compensated if a request has been made to send by carrier, which includes insurance and enables parcels to be tracked .

All orders over 5kg will be sent by courier and customers will be informed of the cost.

Why has my subscriber discount not been taken off the book price?

Your discount will not be applied until we have checked that you qualify for the discount by being an STRI subscriber. Once you have ticked the "I am a STRI Subscriber - please upgrade my online status" box, we will check that you are a subscriber and add the discount rate into your personal profile. The box can be ticked when you register or by visiting your personal user profile once you have logged on.

Once we have added the discount status to your personal profile, then we will inform you of your discount and amend the total charge for your first book order. It is only your first order where this procedure will occur. Once we have added your discount status to your personal profile, then the discount will be taken off automatically when you order with us again.

Do you accept international orders?

STRI welcome orders from all over the world. Ordering internationally will affect delivery time. Contact Bradley Northrop for our delivery rates.
