Regional Turfgrass Agronomist - The North East

Henry, a former Turfgrass Agronomist with STRI, returned in June 2000 to take up the position of Advisory Agronomist for the North East.

Henry had left the STRI to work with a major amenity fertiliser and agrochemical manufacturer and spent 8 years gaining extensive commercial experience of the turf industry in technical sales. Henry achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Geology, followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Crop Protection. In the last two years Henry directed his learning towards gaining a number of professional qualifications in Marketing. Henry's advice is grounded in technical expertise which is coupled with extensive amenity experience to give a down to earth educational approach.

Henry's sporting passion is Crown Green Bowling and he has played golf since childhood.

Relevant Experience:-

Responsible for the successful preparation of new Bowling Greens for the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games.
Advisory work for The R&A (Royal & Ancient Golf Club St Andrews).
Provides advice to over 100 clients each year.
Consultant Agronomist to Middlesboro AFC.
Attends the English Bowls Association green maintenance technical committee.
Consultant to Ripon and Wetherby Racecourses Delivered a number of construction projects for the ECB under the CCDF funding scheme
