Meet the Team

Bob Taylor STRI Senior Ecologist, works almost exclusively within the golfing industry, specialising in ecological and environmental issues as they affect established and proposed developments

Bob is engaged on an annual basis by the R&A to undertake annual ecological surveys of all the Open Championship golf courses and in advising The R&A in matters relating to ecological/environmental sensitivity, set up, spectator routing and Post Open restoration.

Lee Penrose specialises exclusively in environmental/ecological management within the golfing industry and is the co-ordinator and principal adviser for the English Golf Environmental Services funded through the English Golf Union and English Nature.

Bob and Lee also work closely with the statutory conservation organisations,often on a call-out basis, to improve communication and management systems.

The STRI Ecological and Environmental Management Services are backed by extensive laboratory facilities for soil chemical and biological testing, computer aided design (CAD) and the extensive in house architectural and engineering expertise.
