Ann Bentley - PA to Bob Taylor/Desktop Design & Publisher

Ann has worked at STRI for 25 years.  For many years she was in charge of the General Office and Secretary to the then Director, Dr Peter Hayes, up until 1993 when she took maternity leave.  Following the birth of her twins, she returned to work on a part-time basis and is now PA to Bob Taylor (Senior Ecologist).  Ann also operates the Mac Desktop Publisher and, working closely with Anne Wilson (Head of External Affairs), is responsible for the design and production of many of STRI's publications, newsletters, leaflets, etc. in preparation for Computer to Plate printing.

Annete Hargreaves - PA to Ecology (Lee Penrose, Bob Taylor)

Annete joined STRI in October 2006 and works as a PA for the ecology department.

Ann Ormondoryd - PA to Stuart Ormondroyd, Head of Agronomy, Assistant Director of STRI Ltd & PA to Henry Bechelet, Turfgrass Agronomist

Based at the Bingley Head Office Ann is one of the most experienced members of the secretarial team and joined the STRI in 1989.  Her responsibilities include diary management, production of reports and letters and all related secretarial duties.  Ann liaises closely with the R&A and produces the majority of Championship Assessments.

Beverley Isaac - PA to Agronomists in Scotland and Ireland

Beverley originally worked for STRI in the mid 80's as a Soil Physics Lab technician. Since 1997 she has provided admin. backup for the Scotland & Ireland agronomists and now also deals with BASIS accreditation. She lives in Blairgowrie, Perthshire, has 2 teenage boys and is an avid reader and real ale enthusiast.

Sharon Towler - PA Secretary/Receptionist. Head Receptionist, PA to Stella Rixon, Dr Ruth Mann & Dr David Lawson.

Sharon has worked at STRI for 16 years and has worked as a secretary for the Research and Agronomy Departments, then moved on to take full responsibility of the running of the Reception and working as PA/Secretary to Emma Beggs, Stella Rixon, Philip Armitage, Dr Ruth Mann and Dr David Lawson and answers all incoming calls and greets visitors. Sharon undertakes normal secretarial duties including arranging visits and travel arrangements

Pat Reynard - Research Secretary

Joined the STRI on 1 September 1999, after 22 years with The British Association of Landscape Industries.  She had worked in the Coach House at St Ives from 1977-1980 when BALI rented two rooms from STRI so it felt like coming full circle. 

Pat is PA to Dr Stephen Baker (Head of Soils & Sports Surface Science) and Dr Andy Newell (Head of Turfgrass Biology) and carries out secretarial work for department staff.

Carol Doherty - PA to Dr Gordon Mckillop CEO, Head of Finance and Office Supervisor

Joined STRI on 29 August 2005.  PA to Dr Gordon McKillop, Chief Executive and Office Supervisor.  Secretarial and administrative duties include arranging visits and making travel arrangements.  Organisational responsibilities include recruitment of new staff, staff training and appraisal and ensuring there is always an appropriate level of secretarial/administrative support in the main office.

Linda Rhodes - PA to Megan Hood, Philip Armitage, Emma Beggs and Anne Wilson Head of External Affairs

Linda Joined STRI in 2007 to work with Megan Hood, Philip Armitage and Emma Beggs - Argonomists and Anne Wilson - Head of External Affairs. She produces reports, various documents & minutes, arranges visits, travel and accomodation when need along with any other admin suport necessary.
