Anne Wilson B.Ed - Head of External Affairs

Anne and her team manage a wide range of activities which focus on developing and promoting STRI client relations and services. These include the Bookshop; customer services; the website; exhibitions and conferences; the Library; Press Relations and advertising; publishing and production of books, the Turfgrass Bulletin, the Journal and promotional literature.

Anne joined STRI in 1995 to take up a new appointment in STRI's first full time marketing role. Since then External Affairs has developed into a team of four plus a part time librarian.

Prior to working with STRI,Anne gained extensive sales and marketing experience in a variety of industries, including textiles, IT, publishing, hotel and leisure and education.

Amy Crooks BA. Hons - Marketing Officer

Working as part of the STRI External Affairs team Amy’s role as Marketing Officer involves developing targeted direct mailings to increase STRI’s market penetration in order to win potential new business.

Amy will be working closely with Anne Wilson Head of External Affairs and Liz Horner Client Services Co-ordinator assisting with various other marketing functions including exhibitions, customer retention programmes and developing promotional literature.

Prior to working at STRI Amy studied at Manchester Metropolitan University for a degree in Marketing Management and has previously worked at both Harewood House and the Yorkshire Tourist Board in similar marketing roles.

Elizabeth Horner - Client Services Co-ordinator

Working as part of the External Affairs team Liz’s role as Client Services Co-ordinator involves promoting all aspects of STRI’s services to new clients and existing subscribers.  Liz is the first point of contact for all new enquiries.

Liz also works closely with Anne Wilson, Head of External Affairs, assisting with the running of the STRI Trade Scheme, Exhibitions and various PR exercises. Liz has been at STRI on a university placement since September 2007.

Hiren Chauhan - Business Development Assistant

Hiren's roles include the administration and development of the STRI website, the administration and organisation of training courses and running the STRI bookshop. Hiren has been at STRI on a university placement since July 2007.
